DIVE INTO PARADISE: ROATÁN MAYAN PRINCESS ADVENTURE

Join BlueBound Travel for a curated dive adventure on the lush, laid-back island of Roatán, located along the second-largest barrier reef in the world—the vibrant Mesoamerican Reef. For seven nights, we’ll call the Mayan Princess Beach & Dive Resort home, a boutique-style, all-inclusive beachfront property that blends tropical comfort with easy access to world-class diving.

All diving is provided through our local partner—the resort’s onsite 5-Star PADI Instructor Development Center, a team we trust to deliver safe, smooth, and unforgettable underwater experiences. Working closely with our BlueBound guides, these professionals help us create a trip where every diver, whether it’s your first night dive or your hundredth wreck, feels supported and inspired.

Expect 16 scheduled dives, including dramatic wall dives, lush coral gardens, swim-throughs, and a complimentary night dive. You’ll explore iconic sites like Mary’s PlaceBlue Channel, and the El Aguila Wreck, all just minutes from the dock.

FAQs

Can I travel alone?

Yes. All prices are based on double occupancy. If you’re traveling solo, a single supplement usually applies. However, if you’d like to be paired with a roommate, we’ll do our best to match you with another solo traveler of the same gender. Mixed-gender pairing is only done when both parties specifically request and agree to it.

How big is the group?

This trip is limited to 14–26 guests, allowing for personalized attention while still maintaining a social group atmosphere.

Which airport do I fly into?

You’ll fly into Roatán International Airport (RTB). A BlueBound team member will meet you there and provide your private transfer to the resort, which is about 30 minutes away.

How many dives are included?

The package includes five days of 3-tank boat dives plus one complimentary night dive, for a total of 16 dives (weather permitting).

Do I need to bring my own equipment?

Diving Gear and Equipment:

  • Wetsuits: While a 3mm wetsuit is generally sufficient for most divers, some may prefer a full 3mm or a rashguard, depending on personal preference and time of year.

  • Dive Gloves: Many dive operators in Roatán do not permit dive gloves.

  • Rebreathers: Rebreather divers can typically bring their equipment, but it’s always best to check with the dive center beforehand.

  • Gear Lockers: Dive centers often provide lockers for storing dive gear, making it convenient for divers.

  • Rentals: Many dive centers offer dive and snorkel gear rentals, so you may not need to bring all of your equipment.

Is gear rental available?

Yes. Full rental gear is available through Mayan Divers. If you need specific equipment, let us know in advance so we can confirm availability.

What are the dive conditions like?

Water Temperature: The water temperature typically ranges from 78-84°F (25-29°C), making a 3mm wetsuit a good choice for most divers.

Visibility: Roatán boasts excellent visibility, which can sometimes be affected by the rainy season.

Dives: Dives can range from shallow reef dives to deeper dives of 100 feet or more, catering to both novice and experienced divers.

Groups: Dive groups typically consist of 6 certified divers per dive guide, and operators may require a minimum of 2 divers/snorkelers for day outings.

Dive Duration: Dives are often 60 minutes in duration, air permitting.

Nitrox: Some dive centers offer nitrox diving for an additional fee.

What dive certification do I need?

minimum of an Open Water certification is required. Advanced certification is recommended to enjoy some of the more profound or complex sites fully, but it is not mandatory.

What dive sites will we visit?

We explore some of Roatán’s best-known sites, including:

  • Mary’s Place

  • Texas Reef

  • West End Wall

  • Blue Channel

  • El Aguila Wreck

Dive sites are typically within 10 to 20 minutes of the resort by boat.

Can non-divers join this trip?

Yes. Non-divers can enjoy snorkeling, kayaking, beach lounging, spa services, or book optional excursions, such as dolphin encounters, mangrove tours, or visits to a cultural village.
